The purpose of the DC Prayer Breakfast is to gather in DC to lift high the Kingdom of Christ through worship, prayer, breaking of bread, and fellowship. The National Prayer Breakfast was founded in 1953, when President Dwight Eisenhower accepted an invitation to join Members of Congress to pray and break bread together. As an independent ministry, our annual Breakfast is an opportunity for DC ministry and political leaders to pray collectively for our city, the nation, and nations around the world under the banner of Jesus Christ.
